vampirevampire tagged me! And it seems like this thing has really been making the rounds. I don't often do these things, but I thought I'd give this one a go.
Here are the rules:1. You must post the rules.
2. Each person must post 5 things about themselves in their journal

5 Things about Me1. I'm a full-time writer now for a business consulting firm and I'm loving every second of it!
2. I sent something in for publication just two days ago to a Business Strategy magazine. If I get chosen, it will be published on July 1, 2012. It would be my second time published, so I'm very excited to hear back!
3. I have two mostly finished novels that I keep juggling because I can't decide which one I want to finish first. If I would have just chosen one a couple years ago and stuck to it, I could've been done by now, but I just can't seem to make up my mind.
4. My ultimate goal as a writer, what I consider to be the epitome of success for me, would be to see something I've written be added to a high school, college, or university curriculum.
5. I'm a minimalist.
Answers to 11 Questions I was Asked:1. Do you miss the typewriter? What do you miss most about it?
Hells no! I love the speed of the computer, the ability to save what you've done, and the ability to edit with ease. As much as the sound of a typewriter is satisfying, it's not worth the extra effort. Computers save trees people, remember that!
2. What's your favorite tool in writing?
My laptop. See above. Also, I love that I can research for my writing at the same time, or go on dA and read other people's writing for inspiration when I need it. That's how I got through NaPoWriMo this year!
3. Where do you get inspiration? Do you have a consistent source of inspiration?
I'm inspired first by life experience and observation. I make notes on my cell phone memo app when I notice something or think of something I might want to use in a story sometime. If I run out of those ideas, then I read other people's writing, often on dA, for inspiration.
4. If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
Hmm, that's tough. When I think of a mentor, I think not only someone I look up to as a writer, but someone I look up to as a person as well. Most writers that I love, I don't know personally. But, from what I do know, I suppose Margaret Atwood would be a lovely mentor!
5. Favorite writer of all time?
Margaret Laurence (no, that wasn't a typo, it's a different author than Atwood). She payed so much attention to themes and imagery in her works, I can't help but admire her. She is, unfortunately, dead and therefore cannot be my mentor, though since she killed herself, I'm not sure I'd want her to...
6. What's your guilty pleasure?
Reality TV. Things like The Bachelor and the Bachelorette appeal to my hopeless romantic side, and Survivor appeals to my competitive-at-all-costs nature. There are others I enjoy, but I'll not say which...
7. Favorite tv show? What has you hooked?
Outside of reality TV, I enjoy watching a few dramas like Rookie Blue (go Canada!), Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order SVU, Criminal Minds, and Pam AM. I suppose Grey's is my favourite of those, though Rookie Blue is competing pretty hard.
8. Coffee or tea?
Tea, though I don't drink either often. Water and milk are my favourite beverages.
9. What's the one question you've never liked answering?
None! My life is an open book. Oh, wait--I hated answering pregnancy questions over and over again. When are you due? Do you want a boy or a girl? How are you feeling? etc. etc. etc.
10. If you could be someone else, who would you be?
I'd love to be my fiance, Charles, for a day. I want to see everything from his perspective so I can understand him better and be more sensitive to his feelings. Sometimes I lack empathy.
11. Do you have a Fortress of Solitude? What is it: your room, a coffee shop, a library?
My office at work, after everyone is gone and it's just me. There are a lot of comfy places to sit and relax or focus and work, depending on what I'm trying to do. There's wireless internet, a kitchen not far away, a grocery store literally next door if I want a snack. It's a great place to spend a day on the weekend getting things done.
